Expediting Manager

Archirodon Construction Overseas is looking for a suitable candidate to be based in Regional Office who will be reporting directly to the Regional Procurement Manager.
  • Organize and oversee the work of field and desk expeditors based in the company’s operating sites and RO (instruct, coach, provide feedback, plan embedment of field expeditors within suppliers’ premises, ensure that work is performed according to the company’s related procedures, develop expediting plans).
  • Receive and resolve expediting issues as appropriate (receive and evaluate issues escalated by the desk and field expeditors, collect input to facilitate final decision, escalate issues according to the company’s procedures, follow up until closure).
  • Become involved in the procurement cycle as dictated in the company’s procedures (provide feedback at PO level for materials/services of high criticality) and liaise with other Departments by providing his/her expertise in expediting issues.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree (Technical or Business) or equivalent combination of education and related engineering and procurement experience.
Ten (10) years’ experience in one or more of the following areas: expediting, field service, manufacturing, construction or scheduling.
Working knowledge of procurement techniques, procedures and policies.
Sound understanding of accounting and business contract law.
Negotiation skills – able to negotiate effectively with suppliers in a manner that benefits the company and preserves the vendor relationship.
Communications skills – sound communication and interpersonal skills with internal and external clients.
Decision making/trouble shooting skills – make decisions that benefit the company. Able to resolve issues with suppliers by maintaining at the same time a good level of communication and cooperation.
Strong oral and written communication in English, and PC skills

a Junior Civil Engineer
We currently have an opening for a French speaking Junior Civil Engineer. The successful candidate will be part of the Tendering Department, based in Athens.

  • Mainly assist the Tendering Supervisor in the compilation of the technical submissions.
  • Assist in the preparation and checking of the Bills of Quantities as required.
  • Co-ordinate with other departments in order to specialist advice and input into the discipline related sections of the estimate, as required.
  • Assist estimators in the timely completion of cost estimates, as required

Mechanical Engineer
DESCRIPTION:
  • Participate in feasibility studies, project definition, conceptual design, specifications and design documentation for EPC Oil &Gas projects.
  • Participate in Front End and basic engineering services for various mechanical equipment, such as loading arms, pumps, storage tanks and piping.
  • Participate in the evaluation of mechanical systems’ performance, calculations, and energy balance modeling, using pertinent software programs.
  • Undertake responsibility of oil and gas thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and heat transfer.
  • Undertake responsibility for commercial conditions and financial management, related to design issues of oil and gas tenders and contracts.
  • Review tender/contract requirements and prepare conceptual design solutions and proposals.
  • Prepare Material Requisitions, bill of quantities, and technical bid summaries, for mechanical equipment such as turbines, pumps, and desalination units, and utilities for various power plant systems such as steam, feed water, water treatment, and fuel.
  • Participate in detailed design of power plant systems, piping, and equipment sizing calculations, generation of P&IDs, equipment specifications, and data sheets for Utilities and Off Sites units, such as Instrument Air, Steam network, Water treatment, ETP, Flare, Incinerators, desalination, Cooling Tower, N2 Plant, Tank Farms etc.
  • Track equipment through fabrication, installation, and start-up and provide support to field staff as required to support specific project requirements.
  • Undertake pipe stress analysis and pipe flow analysis (would be a plus).
  • Undertake the design of HVAC for multipurpose buildings (would be a plus).

Process Engineer
DESCRIPTION:
  • Execute feasibility studies, project definition, concept design, specifications and design documentation.
  • Develop Process Simulation concept/Model, Process Flow Diagrams, P&I Diagrams, and equipment specifications.
  • Prepare Specification and Datasheets Process Systems Packages such as oil and gas units, cooling systems, tank refrigeration packages, desalination units, pipeline networks, fuel storage tanks, pumping stations, sewage treatment plants etc.
  • Evaluate plant performance, perform calculations, and energy balance modeling using software programs.
  • Review tender / contract requirements and provide design solutions and proposals.
  • Participate in the preparation of Material Requisitions, Bill of quantities, and technical bid summaries, and preliminary layout, for mechanical equipment, such as turbines, pumps, desalination units, and piping components and utilities for systems such as steam, feed water, water treatment, and fuel.

Procurement Manager
DESCRIPTION:
  • Suitable staff for the above positions will be dealing for oversight commercial matters relating to the design, construction and supply contracts, main contract and legal obligations, managing the procurement and budget control. Keeps track of contracts for suppliers/subcontractors and service providers and makes sure that all terms of contracts are followed. Also to ensure completion and submission of Company reporting to Employer. Control of processes to ensure that all identified commercial and contractual issues are properly dealt with in terms of the main contract.
Requirements:
  • Construction related degree and/or Contract Management
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in work related field, preferably in the construction industry
  • Communication and leadership skills
  • Prior international experience is an asset
  • Excellent knowledge of English and Computer skills

Procurement/Tendering Engineer
DESCRIPTION:
Deal with technical commercial and contractual aspects of the tender.
·   Review tender documents
·   Use existing Procurement Knowledge to assist Tendering Department
·   Source for potential vendors and/or sub-contractors
·   Working with the Tendering Engineers to assist with prioritisation of quotations
·   To alert Tendering Team to any issues regarding commercial terms
·   Market and technology research
·   Liaise with Engineering and Tendering Departments for its technical evaluation of tenders
·   Valuation of items of procurement and sub-contracting
·   Conduct the commercial analysis and tender evaluation
·   Counteract the negotiation of terms and conditions of sub-contracts from vendors/sub-contractors

Requirements:

·   BSc in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
·   At least 7 years construction experience in infrastructure projects
·   Excellent command of English language
·   Advanced computer skills and familiarity with design, time scheduling and other engineering software packages
·   Experience in the construction, engineering or environmental industry would be preferred

Project Controls Engineer
DESCRIPTION:
  • Initiate, coordinate and maintain Project List(s) of Deliverables, including but not limited to project procedures and plans, engineering, procurement, material submittals, and method statements.
  • Put together procurement packages, including quantities’ calculation, contract specifications and technical requirements, delivery schedule etc.
  • Assist in subcontracts’ administration and related correspondences, measurements, payment certification, closing final account etc.
  • Prepare a List of Project Materials along with the required quantities and maintain a continuous project materials’ reconciliation.
  • Ensure that the project records and diaries are maintained (i.e. photos, list of daily activities, climate conditions, utilized and idle resources, productivities, important events, verbal site instructions, etc.) and assist in preparing internal and external Project Reports on a regular basis.
  • Collaborate with quantity surveyors in preparing and submitting monthly payment requests.
  • Participate in cost control.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil / Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5 years of work experience in the Construction industry (in Civil, Marine and/or Oil & Gas projects).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as Project Controls Engineer, preferably in EPC type of projects.
  • Fluency in the English language.
  • Computer literacy, including use of MS Office and AutoCAD. Knowledge of Primavera (P3 or P6) will be considered an advantage.
  • Master’s degree will be considered an advantage

Senior E&M Procurement Engineer
Description
Suitable staff for the above positions will be dealing with procurement control activities to ensure the proper and efficient procurement activities that support the company’s financial objectives and provides competitive advantage in accordance with approved Company procedures and policies. Specifically, the ideal candidates will be responsible for both domestic and overseas sourcing by supporting purchasing operations and supplier relations at regional level in order to meet the needs of our construction sites in the Gulf countries in cooperation with the Corporate Procurement Office.
Key Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in work related field, preferably in the construction industry
  • Prior experience in metro and light rail network is an asset
  • Excellent knowledge of English and Computer skills
  • Experience in effectively preparing and executing Material Program Plans and identifying and mitigating program risks
  • Hands on experience in developing material plans that support aggressive business plans including budgeting, strategic material analysis and forecasting
