Design Manager
Roles & Qualifications        
Liaison with the design support team to manage and co-ordinate all of the engineering design for the programme across all phases of work in the design process

Participating in value engineering reviews

Auditing compliance against standards, policies, procedures and best practises for engineering on the Programme

Monitoring compliance against the approvals requirements, including regulatory authorities, for the Programme

Participating in the process of design reviews and implementation of independent design checks, constructability reviews and value engineering;

Liaison and co-ordination between the Designers in the development of engineering work packages

Ensuring that Health, Safety, Environment and Security requirements are properly considered and included in all stages of the design process

Confirming that necessary approvals are obtained from certification bodies

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Minimum of 10 years design and project management experience

Undergraduate degree

Knowledge of engineering aspects of major civil and infrastructure projects

Excellent report writing and communication skills

User of MS Office

Preferably previous experience of projects in the Middle East

Asset Manager
Roles & Qualifications        
Reporting to the Operations Manager the Asset Manager will manage, through the leadership of the Asset Team, the acceptance and commissioning of works on their completion, including establishing a database of all highway assets to be handed over to the O & M team.

The role requires the planning and execution of the commissioning and handover stages of the programme and also ensuring that interim support arrangements are in place to support such activities.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership of the Asset Team in the development and implementation of the handover and commissioning strategy.

Communication of commissioning and handover strategy with the programme team, design consultants, supervision consultants and contractors.

Review of contractor testing and commissioning plans

Ensure Scheduling of commissioning and handover activities and identification and allocation of resources to activities.

Review testing and commissioning plans and activities to assure that completed works meet the required performance specification

Liaison and coordination with programme team, supervision consultants, contractors and third party stakeholders for commissioning and handover activities

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Minimum of 15 years of experience in related projects

Minimum of 5 years of experience in the establishment of Asset Management Systems and Policies and / or a Handover and Commissioning role of highway assets

Undergraduate degree in Engineering

Preferably Chartered or Professional Engineer

Sound knowledge of engineering and operational aspects of major civil and infrastructure projects including roads, bridges and utilities

Experience in the use of asset management systems

Report writing and communication skills

Experienced user of MS Office

Experience of major projects in the Middle East

THE ROLE

Reports to a Senior Project Manager and is responsible for delivery of a project to contract requirements. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Management of all aspects of delivering a project on a major program of highways and infrastructure development works

Manage the constructiion supervisor to facilitate delivery of construction, coordinating logistics, permitting, commissioning and handover activities to contractual technical,budget, schedule and quality requirements

Interface with the client, construction supervisor and the KBR controls and commercial teams to ensure coordination and reporting is of a level that assists in the timely delivery of contract deliverables

Monitor works to confirm they are being carried out in accordance with the operations strategy, standards, policies, procedures and the best practicies

Liaise with the Engineering Team to assist in the execution of design solutions that promote constructabillity and value engineering

Monitor and report on the performance of the construction supervisors and the contractors

Ensure best safety practicies during construction

Obtain the required support to assist in the timely payment of invoices and resolution of variations and claims

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Significant construction experience in the Project Manager position during execution of civil and infrastructure projects, including roads, structures, bridges, underpasses, sewerage, underground HV power, ITS, lighting, water reticulation

Experience and skills of managing major highways projects in excess of QR 400 Million

20 years post graduate experience

BSc in related subject

Chartered or professional engineer

Holds or working towards MICE or equivalent

Fluency in English language both written and spoken

Arabic language skills desirale, but not essential

Experienced user of MS Office
